Amazing: Teacher With No Arms Inspires Students

Managing a classroom full of 30 anxious fifth-graders is hard enough, but for one Ohio teacher, there's an extra challenge. Mary Gannon was born without her arms. She grew up in an orphanage in Mexico City, but she didn't let that slow her down. Coming to America at age 7, Gannon said she lived a normal life. Mary said growing up in an orphanage "instilled in her" a desire to help and teach kids. "Sometimes I even forget that I don't have arms because my students don't treat me any differently," Gannon said. She lives in Lakewood, near Cleveland. Gannon said she decided to share her story to show everyone that anything is possible.
