On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be exposed to a total eclipse of the sun, in which the moon completely covers the sun's disk. The event will treat those within the path of the eclipse to a truly awesome sight. Even those outside of this path should still be able to see a partial solar eclipse (in which the moon partially covers the sun).
The approaching invites us to turn our thoughts upward to think about the beauty and majesty of our universe and questions of eternal significance.
If you've ever entertained the thought "Perhaps all of this is by chance?" some mind-blowing scientifically verified information about the nature of the cosmos might give you reason to think otherwise.
As it says in Psalm 8:1, 3 and 4
"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!... You have set your glory in the heavens. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?"
