TWB #55 - Gil, Henriette and 94W - August 5, 2013 Day 66 in the Atlantic, Day 84 in the Eastern Pacific A new tropical storm has formed in the Eastern Pacific, in the form of Henriette, and is expected to continue westwards out to sea before curving northwestwards. Henriette is likely to attain hurricane status along its journey before weakening. Tropical Storm Gil weakened to a Depression yesterday, and is expected to degenerate further to remnant low very soon. Gil is moving westwards and will pass to the south of Hawaii as a remnant low. Invest 94W has moved through the southern half of the Philippines, and is now passing Palawan island into the South China Sea. 94W is expected to develop into a tropical storm here, before moving northwest towards Hainan Island in a few days, where it is likely to brush the western coast before a final landfall in Vietnam - close to where Jebi made landfall a few days ago.
